Gist Enfield joins Child Road Safety programme

Gist Enfield is the latest site to sign up to Gist’s Child Road Safety Programme, joining 10 other sites to deliver the free road safety initiative to local schools.

There are more than 90 primary schools in the London Borough of Enfield, and the introduction of the scheme at the site provides an all-new catchment area for the programme.

“The Child Road Safety programme is a fantastic initiative,” says Clive Nash, Logistics Manager at Gist Enfield. “We’re delighted to be introducing the programme to Enfield, and look forward to helping Gist improve children’s road safety within our local area.”

To make sure the programme maintains its high standards, the new volunteers at Enfield have shadowed experienced Hemel presenters to school visits, and have
undertaken risk assessment training.

Maria Staddon, who is helping coordinate the scheme locally at the site, said: “The Child Road Safety scheme makes us proud to work for Gist. We’re eager to get
involved and start making a difference in our local area.”

Since launching in 2011, Gist’s Child Road Safety programme has raised road safety awareness to over 120,000 primary school children across the UK.

“The scheme continues to be a success due to the presenters’ passion for the subject,” says Darren Oliver, Communications Coordinator. “We’re delighted to welcome the Enfield team on-board.”
