Gist has been managing supply chains for Al Futtaim for over 10 years. These global end-to-end supply chains flow out of the UK delivering products for a variety of retail brands into the Middle East and Asia.
Established in the 1930s as a trading business, Al-Futtaim
operates through more than 65 companies across sectors as diverse
as commerce, industry and services, and employs more than in excess
of 20,000 people across the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar,
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Syria, Singapore,
Malaysia and Europe.
Gist has been managing supply chains for Al Futtaim for over 10
years. These global end-to-end supply chains flow out of the UK
delivering products for a variety of retail brands into
destinations such as the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi,
Egypt, Malaysia and Singapore.
Using a combination of air and sea freight, the team coordinate
both full and part loads of retail products ranging from:
- boxed and hanging merchandise such as apparel
- fast moving cold chain products
- store fittings
- visual merchandise for retail stores
- staff uniforms
- ambient food
- toiletries, including hazardous cargo.
Gist also delivers added value solutions such as product coding,
product rework (including product re-labelling and re-packing),
vacuum packing and supply chain review and design.
Local events such as store, brand and territory launches are
also supported with the Gist team coordinating a wide range of
product arriving in the UK, consolidating these for each event and
location, and managing their transportation and timely arrival in
Gist also coordinates the transportation by air & sea of
visual merchandise and store fittings from global points of origin
for store fit out.
Gist's global end-to-end team take care of:
- customs requirements
- negotiating the most cost effective routes and transport
- waste management
- temperature requirements and controls
- in-transit visibility at PO level
