About the

The HGV Technician Apprenticeship Programme is your opportunity to build a career at the heart of the UK's largest logistics networks.

As an HGV Technician, you'll play a vital role in keeping our fleet safe, compliant and on the road, ensuring products continue to move across the country and reach M&S stores every day.

This three-year apprenticeship programme combines hands-on workshop experience with structured learning, helping you develop the technical skills, knowledge and confidence needed to become a qualified Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician.

Each year we recruit a new apprenticeship cohort who begin their journey together in September, creating a supportive learning environment where you'll build relationships, share experiences and develop alongside other apprentices across the network.

Develop.

Your development journey

You'll complete the Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Level 3 Apprenticeship, delivered by Skillnet, our Apprenticeship Partner, combining workplace training with structured learning.

Our partnership
with Skillnet

Gist have partnered with Skillnet to deliver the Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance, Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.

Their programme is delivered through a blend of college attendance and e-learning modules. This is combined with workplace training, observations, written assessments and online tests.

The programme is structured into 13 training blocks across the three-year programme.

For each block apprentices will attend the DAF Academy in Nottingham for one week per month. This commitment is clearly outlined and agreed with apprentices upon acceptance on the programme.
