Gist and Starbucks sign extension to partnership

We have extended our current contract with Starbucks for UK in-bound goods, storage, order processing and delivery to store.

Shared National Distribution Centre

We have worked in partnership with Starbucks since 2011, and, as part of the renewal, we will commission a new shared National Distribution Centre (NDC).

“We are delighted to extend our current partnership with Starbucks,” says Martin Gwynn, our CEO. “We are looking forward to continuing to provide a great service to Starbucks and, through our innovative supply chain approach, look to support them in exceeding their customers’ expectations.”

Optimisation

To accommodate the growth aspirations of both businesses, we have secured an additional site in Coventry, which will begin operating as an NDC in September 2016. The addition of this site means that Gist can further optimise its network - servicing coffee shop, casual dining and food-to-go customers.

These network changes will enhance delivery schedules, reduce environmental impact and unlock further synergy opportunities for Gist and its customers.

Steve Belke, Starbucks Vice President, EMEA Supply Chain Operations, said: "Our partnership with Gist over the last five years has enabled a flexible and cost-effective supply chain operation, allowing Starbucks to continue to grow in the UK and focus on providing the very best service to our store partners and our customers."
