Managing occupational road risks
If you are a manager with responsibility for the Health and
Safety of personnel, are you aware that you could be held
responsible for the actions of any driver acting on behalf of your
company if he or she is involved in a blameworthy road
accident?
Everyone without question accepts that UK roads can be a
dangerous place. Everyone knows they are at risk when driving. But
how many people know that under Health & Safety law, the
"workplace" - where reportable accidents occur - includes the road,
and where you may have been liable for an accident in your factory
or warehouse or office, if your worker is on the road, you will
have that same vicarious liability.
To find out more, including an explanation of your
responsibilities under the Health and Safety legislation, download
our 'managing occupational road risks guide' and, if you think you
or your company might be at risk and feel we might be able to help
reduce those risks, please get in touch.
