Primary network
The Gist Primary business manages the transportation of food products from the manufacturer to retail networks – a significant proportion of which require temperature control.
Gist Primary’s principle customers are suppliers (numbering in excess of 300) manufacturing for UK food retailers. It is responsible for distributing their finished products to the retailers regional distribution centres ensuring adherence to the stringent service requirements.
The Gist Primary network is fully integrated, consisting of fleet from both retailer and multi user Primary operations. The management and control of distributing in excess of 70000 pallets per week within the UK and 6000 pallets per week of horticulture and produce into the UK, is undertaken by our Central Logistics Team and fully supported by our Account / Primary Managers and Customer Service function.
