Gist wins Intergreen contract
Leading logistics provider Gist has today announced that it has won the contract to be Dutch flower producer Intergreen’s exclusive logistics partner for the transport of horticultural products between Holland and the UK.
Intergreen is the largest company within the Dutch Flower Group and specialises in the supply of ready-to-sell flowers, bouquets and plants to retailers in Europe.
Intergreen’s UK customers include major supermarket chains - Asda, Tesco, Marks & Spencer and Sainsbury. Under the contract Gist will provide a trunking operation of flowers and plants from Honselersdijk near Rotterdam to two Intergreen sites in Lincolnshire (Holbeach and Bicker).
At Holbeach and Bicker, Gist will provide warehousing operations and outload Intergreen products for onward shipment to Intergreen’s UK retail customers.
Paul Littmoden, Gist’s account director for primary distribution services said: “This contract win marks an important step in Gist’s ongoing development as it not only confirms our ability to work effectively across a wide range of market sectors, but also serves as further evidence of Gist’s international credentials.”
This contract commences in October 2003.
