Gist shows strength despite industry slowdown

The BOC Group has today announced its first quarter financial results revealing a strong performance from the Group’s supply chain arm, Gist.

Gist Managing Director Martin Gwynn commented: “For the third quarter running Gist has shown positive growth in both turnover and profit. This is an endorsement to our new, highly successful service offerings, which encompass not only supply chain operations, but also total managed solutions, e-fulfilment and consulting services.

“Christmas 2001 was one of our busiest ever, with a number of our customers far exceeding their sales targets. For us, this meant managing larger than planned volumes of stock at all points in the supply chain – something that we accomplished extremely successfully.”

Gwynn concluded: “With such a strong first quarter, we have definitely started the year as we mean to go on.”
