Gist takes on VOW deliveries in the south west

Gist has further strengthened its relationship with office supplies wholesaler, VOW, taking over VOW’s delivery operations in the south west, in a new £3million contract.
The south west operation comprises of 27 vehicles ranging from 3.5t Sprinters to 18t Rigid and involves around 275 customer deliveries per day.
The new deal involved the TUPE transfer of around 43 VOW staff based in Bristol and a network of supporting outbases.
Following this, Gist will then assist in the exit from the main VOW Bristol site and the transfer of the operations to two Gist sites, thereby providing VOW with access to shared site infrastructure. The outbases at Exeter, Plymouth and Cardiff will be retained to support the two main operating centres.
The contract to operate the south west region will be aligned with the wider VOW/Gist contract which involves the daily time-sensitive delivery of office products from VOW’s state of the art National Distribution Centre in Lutterworth to their national network of Regional Distribution Centres, radial distribution of VOW’s extensive office product range to customers across the Midlands and the provision of a national warehousing and delivery operation for business furniture.
