Gist wins two Motor Transport Awards
July 2009
At an award ceremony held on Tuesday 1 July 2009, leading supply chain specialist Gist won both the safety and training categories at the Motor Transport Awards 2009.
The Awards celebrate the achievements of the industry and recognise innovation, outstanding service, efficiency and quality. They are judged by an independent panel of experts drawn from the industry.
Held before an audience of 1,300 road transport professionals in the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane, it was a rewarding night for Gist as they received recognition for both its outstanding safety performance and commitment to training.
Motor Transport editor Justin Stanton told the audience: “Your ability to overcome the challenges of the past year is a beacon to UK industry, it is a silver lining in the dark clouds of recession that hang over us, and it makes Motor Transport fiercely proud to stage these awards and to highlight the outstanding work being carried out by so many different transport businesses.”
Martin Gwynn, Gist chief executive said: “We are delighted that Gist has been recognised for the best practice programmes we have in place for both safety and training.
We really do believe that these two areas are integral to our business and these awards are testament to all Gist employees and their commitment to our safety and training programmes.”
